That’s why we’re fans of Senhoa, a nonprofit that provides employment opportunities for Cambodian victims of human trafficking via beautiful, affordable jewelry. We’re particularly impressed with its recent collaboration with supermodel Coco Rocha, who received a Senhoa piece as a wedding gift and was inspired to help the cause.
Named after the young girls who craft it, Rocha’s seven-piece line combines multicolored Swarovski elements with a high-caliber fashion sense (biker chains and crystal spikes mixed with delicate shapes and glistening beads). We love the blossom-like Phary earrings ($105), the elaborate Chantrea necklace ($195) and theSopheary bracelet ($65), made with interwoven strands of beads.
Any collection would be remiss without a major showstopper, and the model does her due diligence with this jaw-dropping, 2,500-crystal Rachany necklace ($995), which wraps around the neck and drapes over the shoulders.
Rocha, who recently spoke out against the exploitation of underage girls in the fashion industry, will donate 100 percent of the jewelry’s proceeds to future Senhoa projects.
That’s a model citizen in our book.
